Note: whenever I say to add a layer, add a raster layer, unless otherwise noted.

The quality of the screenshots has been compromised due to resizing for faster loading.

1. Open a new image 500 x 500 and flood fill with a colour if desired.

2. Select your preset shapes tool with the following settings: Retain style UNchecked, anti-alias and create as vector checked. Have your foreground on null and background set to black. Draw an ellipse as shown below:

3. Click on your pen tool . Add two nodes as shown in the image below by holding down your Ctrl key and clicking on the line when you see "ADD".

4. On the right node, grab the arrow by left clicking and drag it to the left and down a bit as shown:

On the left node, grab the arrow and drag it to the left and up:

Don't worry about getting them perfect as we'll be covering the top anyway.

Pull straight down a bit on the top centre node:

5. On each of the side nodes, right click and select Node Type--->Symmetric. Grab the node by left clicking and bring it in toward the centre a bit. Only worry about getting one side the way you want, there's a trick to making them even in the next step.

Layers--->Convert to Raster Layer

6. Decide which side you like best and draw a rectangle around the side you don't like with your selection tool. (antialias checked, feather 0) S Hit your Delete key to delete it

Deselect. Layers--->Duplicate. On the duplicate layer, Image--->Mirror. With your mover tool , move one side to join with the next, making sure it's lined up properly. Merge visible the two side layers (if you have a background layer, turn it off first) and rename the merged layer "cauldron"

7. Select your deform tool and pull down on the top centre node as shown,how far you go down is individual preference. The further down you go, the shorter and wider your cauldron will be.
