Door with Stained Glass

Materials needed:

PSP - get it here

Blade Pro or Super Blade Pro  (optional) - get it here

BP preset - I'm not sure if this came with BP, so I've included it here. If you recognize it as someone's please let me know and I'll gladly give credit. This will also work with Super Blade Pro.

A dingbat font for doorhandle or make a doorknob and/or knocker with Mahogany's tutorial here.

Stained glass texture. The one I used is from Spectrum Glass. Take a look there for many more - they are free and the terms of use are very generous. Click here for the one I used.

Due to image resizing for faster loading, image quality has been compromised. Yours will look much better.

1. Open a new image 500x500 and flood fill with a colour of your choosing, but not a colour you will be using in the graphic. I used a medium gray.

2.  Add a new raster layer and name it "frame". With the selection tool, antialias checked, feather 0, draw a rectangle from 20,20 to 480,490. Flood fill with white. Deselect.

3.  Now  draw a rectangle (same tool settings) from co-ordinates 150,35 to 350, 475. Edit----> clear. Deselect.

4.  Draw another rectangle from 35,35 to 135,475. Edit, clear. Deselect.

5.  Now draw one more rectangle from 365,35 to 465,475. Edit, clear, deselect.

6.  With magic wand, tolerance 0, feather 0, select inside the white.

At this point, you might want to save it as a .psp file to use as the beginning for other doors.

7.  Blade Pro or Super Blade Pro - bevel_soft preset. You could also use PSP's inner bevel. Choose one that you like.  Deselect.

8.  With your magic wand, click inside the left frame. Add a new layer and name it "left inside frame". Make sure you are on the new layer, Selections---->Modify ---->Expand by 1.  Flood fill with the colour you want for your door. I used #95C4E1.

9.  Selections---->Modify---->Contract by 15. Edit---->Clear. Keep selected and flood fill with your choice of colour for the inside frame. I chose white.   Selections---->Modify---->Contract by 10. Edit, clear. Deselect.

10. Select the white frame with magic wand, Selections---->Modify---->Expand by 1. Apply the same bevel preset. Deselect.
