Corners 1 Dingbat by Linkware Lane - download here

The flower tube I used was made especially for this tutorial by Marvik of the PSPmadeEZ group, thank you so very much, Marvik!

This tutorial was created in Paintshop Pro 7, but could easily be done in 5 or 6

1. New image 300x300, transparent background. Flood fill with black. Add new raster layer.

2. Using your preset shapes tool, on rounded rectangle (or plain rectangle if you prefer), with foreground and background white, antialias checked, vector and retain style unchecked, draw a rectangle from coordinates 10,20 to 23,270.

3. Edit---->Copy, edit---->paste as new selection. Image---->Rotate to the right by 90 degrees. Using mover tool, move into postition at top of vertical rectangle.

Deselect.  If you want your horizontal piece shorter than the verticle, take your selection tool on rectangle and draw a square over the end then hit delete or edit---->clear.

4. With text tool, apply the capital letter "J" with the Arial Font. Image---> mirror. Move into place as shown in the figure. This is your hook for the plant to hang on.

Deselect.

5. Select the image with your selection tool and apply a Blade Pro or Super Blade Pro preset. I used the Gold Marble BP preset from Mahogany but any one you like can be used. Deselect.

6. Add new raster layer. With the text tool, apply the Corners 1 Dingbat, capital "C", size 120, foreground and background white.  Using the mover tool, move into place.

7. Apply the same preset as in step 5 or if you like, you could use another one.

8.  There are some stray pieces of the dingbat that aren't connected to anything, as shown in the figure below. You can get rid of them with your eraser tool.

9.  Image---->Canvas size; width 350, height 300, center image vertically checked, horizontally unchecked, left 0 right 50. Flood fill the bottom layer with black. Add a new layer and apply a plant tube. In this one, I added a wire hanger with the draw and sculpture tools:

10.  Turn off or delete bottom layer and merge visible.

11.  If you like, before deleting the bottom layer,  you can use your deform tool to make the hanger look more 3D. You would hold the CTRL key down while pushing up and in with the bottom right hand square. I haven't perfected this technique yet, so I can't show you an image, unfortunately.

12. Make a tube out of the image or you can tube the hanger before putting the plant on and use with various plants. Also, you can use vary the BP presets for the hanger.

Enjoy!
