In this tutorial when ever it says "add new layer", add a new raster
layer.
I have done a lot of screen shots, so please be patient while the pages load. I'd rather have too many than too few. :)
Note: In order to reduce load time, many of my images show just part of the image window, so please do not let that throw you off.
Remember to save often!
My heartfelt thanks to the PSP Dynasty group for this award! I'm honoured that you felt my tutorial worthy and that you enjoyed using it as a tutorial. Please click on the award to go to their results page to see the images they made:
1. Open a new image 500 x 500. Make sure your rulers are showing. Flood fill
with a colour if desired. I used a light gray. Add a new layer and name it "bottom
shelf". On this new layer, with
your selection tool, feather 0, antialias UNchecked, draw a rectangle from 80,
265 to 340, 390 and flood fill with your wood pattern or a colour of your choice.
Deselect.
2. Image--->Geometric Effects ---Skew Horizontal -15. Effects--->3D Effects --->Inner Bevel. Use the soft edge preset, changing the depth to 1.
3. Click on your deformation tool
and place your cursor on the top middle square.

Drag the cursor down to about 330 or so and click on Apply.
4. Add a new layer and name it "front edge". With your selection
tool, antialias checked, draw a rectangle from 115, 378 to 377, 390. Flood fill
with your pattern or colour and deselect. Apply the same inner bevel.
5. Right click on this layer in your layers palette and choose Duplicate. Rename your duplicate layer to "back edge". Drag this layer down below the shelf layer and line up against the back
6. Go back to your front edge and Duplicate the layer again. Rename this
layer "right edge". Image--->Rotate to the right by 60, making
sure that "All layers" is UNchecked. Drag this layer below your front
edge layer and line up on the right side. You want it so that the front is lined
up just behind the front edge as shown in the image below. If you have anything
hanging over the front edge, just zoom in and erase.
7. With your selection tool, same settings, draw a rectangle from 220, 145 to 398, 320 and Edit--->Clear (or hit Delete). Deselect.
8. Now, zoom in once or twice and click on your lasso tool
and set it to point-to-point. Draw a triangle in the upper corner as shown in
the image below and delete. Your approximate co-ordinates to click on are 327,
318; 345, 318; 330, 336 and then back at your starting point of 327, 318.. By
doing this you are making the inside corner. I had a bit of the back edge hanging
over the right edge so I just got rid of it with the eraser tool.
