13. Add a new layer and name it "front trim shadow". Making sure you are on this new layer, apply a drop shadow with the following settings:
14. Take your eraser tool and erase the shadow on the top and right side of the trim.
15. Going back to the front trim layer, right click and choose Duplicate. Name this duplicate layer "right side trim". On this new layer, Image--->Rotate to the left by 45 degrees. Make sure "All layers" is UNchecked. With your mover tool, move this trim in place over the right side and drag this layer below the "front trim" layer. (or Layers--->Arrange--->Move Down) You may need to erase a pixel or two showing in the lower left corner, see image below:
16. Using your selection tool, draw a rectangle from 429, 0 to 585, 155. (If necessary, adjust the "429" a pixel or two either way so that you are cutting as close to the outer side as possible)
17. Edit--->Clear. Deselect. I had just a tiny bit still showing, so I used
my eraser tool to get rid of it.
18. Selections--->select all. Select the trim with your magic wand. Add new layer and name it "right trim shadow". Make sure you are on this new layer, apply the same drop shadow and once again, erase the top shadow and also erase the shadow on the left side of the trim.
19. Go back to your "front trim" layer. Right click and select Duplicate. Name this duplicate layer "left side trim" and drag this layer under your "front trim" layer. Here is how your layers should look now:
20. Image--->Resize. Enter 50 in the "Percent of original" box and make sure "Resize all layers" is UNchecked:
21. Image--->Rotate to the left by 45 degrees. Move into place on the left
side, erasing any bits you may have hanging over the bottom of the top trim.
22. With your selection tool, same settings, draw a rectangle from 70, 35 to 175, 133
Edit--->clear. Deselect.
23. Go to your top layer (the one named "front trim shadow"), add a new raster layer and name it "back trim". On this new layer, with your selection tool, same settings, draw a rectangle from 78, 122 to 431, 135.
Flood fill and apply the same inner bevel. Deselect.
24. Now you have your mailbox! Delete the background layer, and you can merge visible and tube it to use in your images if you like. You can decorate the front with text, tubes or dingbats, insert a letter between the layers to show there's mail etc.
Enjoy!
