Whenever I say "add new layer", add a raster layer.
Have your rulers showing for this tutorial. View--->Rulers.
In order to decrease loading time, many of the screen shots do not show the whole image area. Please do not let that throw you off.
1. Open a new image 500 x 500 and flood fill with a colour if desired. Add new layer and name it "top". With your selection tool, Feather 0, antialias UNchecked, draw a rectangle from 30, 15 to 305, 120. Flood fill with your pattern or colour. Deselect. Effects--->Geometric Effects--->Skew. Enter 25 in the Horizontal field, 0 for Vertical. Effects--->3D Effects--->Inner Bevel. Use the "soft edge preset" and change the Depth to 1.
2. Click on your Deform tool
.
Put your mouse on the top centre square and
bring down to about 90 and click on Apply.
3. Go to your background layer, add a new layer and name it "frame".
With your selection tool, antialias checked, draw a rectangle from 93, 118 to
365, 370. Flood fill with white. Selections--->
Modify--->Contract by 10. Edit--->Clear or just hit the Delete key. Deselect.
Click on your white border with your magic wand to select it and flood fill
with your pattern or colour. Deselect and apply the same inner bevel.
4. Once again go to your background layer. Add a new layer and name it "left door". With your selection tool, same settings, draw a rectangle from 103, 225 to 231, 360. Flood fill with your pattern or colour. If you are using a wood pattern, change the angle to 90. Deselect and apply the same inner bevel. If necessary, move the door down a notch so it is just touching the bottom frame.
5. Duplicate this layer by right clicking on the layer and choosing "duplicate".
Rename
the duplicate layer "right door". Image--->Mirror and then take
your mover tool and move into
position on the right side.
6. For the door handles, take your selection tool, same settings and draw
a rounded
rectangle from 205, 260 to 212, 305. on the left door layer. Keep selected and
apply the same inner bevel. Do not deselect. Edit--->Copy. Click on your
right door
layer and Edit--->Paste as new selection. Move into position, using your
grid as a
guide if need be.
7. Add new layer and name it "shelf 1". With your selection tool, antialias UNchecked, draw a rectangle from 100, 140 to 365, 204. Flood fill with your pattern or colour - if using the wood pattern, change the angle to 0. Deselect. Effects--->Geometric Effects--->Skew Horizontal 25. Apply the same inner bevel. Click on the deform tool and put your cursor on the top centre node and bring down to about 170. Click on apply.
8. With your mover tool, bring the shelf down so that the bottom edge lines
up with the top of the doors and the left lower corner lines up with the left
upper corner of the left door.
