Microwave Stand Page 2

9. To get rid of the excess on the right, draw a rectangular selection from 361, 185 to 400, 230 and Edit--->Clear or hit the delete key. Deselect.

10. Duplicate this layer and rename duplicate layer to "shelf 2". With your mover tool, move this shelf up above the lower shelf as shown in image below (make sure the left back corner is in line with that of the lower shelf, use your grid for easier placement):

11. Go to your background layer and add a new layer, naming it "back". With your selection tool, antialias checked, draw a rectangle from 128, 122 to 360, 210. Flood fill with your wood pattern or colour - use angle 90 for wood pattern. If need be, adjust the position of your shelves so that the back left corners are lined up with the right side of the back panel.

12. Add new layer and name it "left side". With your selection tool (antialias doesn't matter),
draw a rectangle from 80, 118 to 128, 130. Flood fill with your pattern or colour and deselect. If using the wood pattern, use angle of 90. Deselect. Effects--->Geometric Effects---> Skew 25 Vertical. (If using a solid colour, you don't necessarily need to skew).

13. With your mover tool, move the side to align with the back on the right and so that there are no gaps on the top or bottom (both your top and bottom edges will overlap behind the top and doors). Click on your deformation tool and put your cursor on the centre left vertical node and bring in to behind the frame.

14. Colours--->Adjust--->Brightness/Contrast. I entered -15 in the Brightness field (0 for contrast) but what you choose will greatly depend on what colour or pattern you used. The idea is to make the left side slightly darker than the rest.

15. Go to your background layer and add a new layer, naming it "right side". With your selection tool, antialias UNchecked, draw a rectangle from 365, 10 to 490, 425. Flood fill with your pattern or colour and deselect. If using the wood pattern, use angle of 90. Effects--->Geometric Effects--->Skew 45 Vertical. With the mover tool, move the side down as shown in image below:

Repeat the skew but change to 25 Vertical. Now, line the side up, overlapping the left side a wee bit behind the doors. Do not worry about the corner overlapping.

16. With your selection tool, draw a rectangle from 350, 45 to 492, 90 and Edit--->Clear or Delete. Draw another rectangle from 414, 88 to 492, 315 and Clear or Delete again. Apply the same inner bevel and make sure the side is lined up properly (you probably will need to adjust it a bit). Zoom in and erase the tip hanging over at the bottom left corner.

17. You are finished your microwave stand. Decorate it the way you want and turn off the bottom (background) layer and merge visible the rest. If you like, you can add wheels, as shown in the image below. For instructions on how to make these, please see my kitchen cart tutorial, steps #21-26 on Page 3 (You need Eye Candy 3000 for this) or you can download mine in psp format here

Enjoy!
