Christmas Tree Ornament 2
Materials needed:
PSP 7.x - get it here - will
also work in PSP 6.x
Blade Pro or Super Blade Pro - Get it here.
(optional)
A preset for BP or SBP - I used the gold-glitter, download here
- Note: I cannot remember where this came from and cannot find the
original on the web, so if anyone knows who the creator is, please
let me know.
Eye Candy 4000 - Get it here
(optional). Download my ornament glass preset here.
Unzip and place in your EC4000 Glass folder.
A hook - download mine here
Note: Whenever I say to add a new layer, add a raster layer.
1. Open a new image, 500 x 500. Add a new layer and name it
"ornament".
2. With your selection tool, feather 0, antialias checked, draw
an ellipse starting at 250, 250. Make it as big as you want. Flood
fill with a colour of your choice and deselect
3. Effects--->Geometric Effects--->Perspective-Vertical.
Enter 75 in the box and click ok.
4. Take your magic wand and select your image. Selections--->Save
to alpha channel. Deselect.
5. Add new layer and name it "stripes". Using your
draw tool, single line, width 4, antialias checked, create as vector
and close path UNchecked, draw some lines across your ornament as
shown:
6. Click on one of the lines with your magic wand. (make sure
it only selects the line and not the outside of the image) Selections--->Modify--->Select
Similar.
7. Apply a Sculpture or Blade Pro or Super Blade Pro preset.
I used gold_glitter but you can use any or use a the gold or silver
sculpture in the PSP effects menu (Effects--->Texture Effects--->Sculpture).
I then lightened mine by going to Colors--->Adjust--->Brightness/Contrast
and entering 30 in the Brightness box. Deselect.
8. Effects--->3D Effects--->Inner Bevel - apply the round
preset but change the depth to 5.
9. Selections--->Load from alpha channel. Load the selection
you saved in step #4. Selections--->Invert. Edit--->Clear
or hit your Delete key to get rid of the lines going outside the
ornament. Deselect.
9. Go back to your ornament layer. Apply the Eye Candy 4000
Glass, MSR_ornament_glass preset or Inner Bevel, using the Round
preset and change the width to 31 and the depth to 1.

10. Turn off your background layer and merge visible the rest.
Image--->Resize. Enter 75% with "resize all layers"
checked. Resizing gets rid of the jaggies on the ornament caused
when we did the Perspective.
11. Add a hook, you can use the one provided or another one
if you choose. (you will first need to move the ornament to the
bottom of the canvas with your mover tool and increase your canvas
size) You can now tube it for use in your decorating projects.
Enjoy!
