Materials Needed:
PSP 8 - Get it here (this would probably work in PSP 7 too)
A brick pattern of your choice - I got mine here
Fireplace logs - download these ones by Mahogany here - offered for download with Mah's permission
Jasc's fire tube - comes with PSP
Note: Whenever I say to add a layer, add a raster layer.
1. Open a new image 550 x 400 and flood fill with a colour if desired.
2. Add a new layer and name it left front. Click on your selection tool,
and set it to Rectangle; Mode: replace; feather 0; anti-alias checked. Click
on the custom selection icon
and use these co-ordinates:
Left 15
Top 35
Right 120
Left 380
Flood fill the selection with your brick pattern.
3. Layers--->Duplicate. With your mover tool
, move the duplicate layer to the right so the left side is just touching the
right side of the front piece. Click on your Deform tool
and hold down your Ctrl key and drag the bottom right node up to about 270:

Now, bring in the right middle node to 150:

Click on any other tool to apply the deformation. Adjust--->Brightness and Contrast--->Brightness/Contrast. Enter -20 for Brightness, 0 for Contrast.
4. Go back to the original left front layer. Adjust the Brightness by -10. Adjust---> Effects--->3D Effects--->Inner Bevel. Use the Round preset, but change the Depth to 1 and Intenstity to 45. (whether or not you adjust the brightness and by how much will greatly depend on the brick pattern you are using. With the one I am using, it looked "washed" out after applying the inner bevel if I didn't darken it first)
5. Turn off your background layer and merge visible the other two layers. Rename the merged layer "left side" and turn your background layer back on. On your left side layer, Layers--->Duplicate. Image--->Mirror
6. Go to your background layer and add a new one, naming it "back". With your selection tool, draw a rectangle for the back and flood fill, as shown below:

Deselect and adjust the brightness by -20
7. Go to your top layer and add a new layer, naming it "front". Make
and flood fill a selection with these co-ordinates:
Left 120
Top 295
Right 430
Bottom 380
I adjusted my brightness by -15, how much you use will depend on the brick pattern you are using.
8. Go to your front layer and duplicate it. Rename the duplicate layer "floor".
With your mover tool, move the duplicate piece so the bottom edge is even with
the top edge of the front piece. Click on your deformation tool, and hold down
the Ctrl key and bring in the top right corner node to the back edge of the
right side.

Bring the top centre node down as shown

9. Move the layer down to below the front layer. (Layers--->Arrange--->Move Down) and, using the deform tool, tweak it to fit - the back corners of the floor layer should meet the back edges of the sides. Adjust the brightness by -5.
8. Now, you can add logs and fire tubes to make a fire. If you like, you can tube the fireplace without the fire and logs and use in your outdoor images.
Enjoy!
