Snowman

Materials Needed:

PSP 7.x - Get it here - will also work in PSP 6.x

Gold Gradient - I used Mahogany's Gold_Satin, download here - this is placed here with her permission.

Note: When I say to add a new layer, add a raster layer

1. Open a new image, 500 x 500 and flood fill with a colour if desired. Add a new layer and name it bottom. With your selection tool, feather 0, antialias checked, draw a circle, starting at 250, 250. I drew mine to 390, 390. Flood fill with white.

2. Change your foreground colour to an off-white (I used #EDEBEB), background colour null and your foreground texture to "cracked cement", as shown below:

Flood fill again. Apply the following inner bevel:

3. Right click on the layer and choose "duplicate". Go back to your original layer and duplicate again. Rename your first duplicate layer "body" and the second duplicate layer "head"

4. On your bottom snowball layer, Image--->Resize by 75%, making sure "resize all layers" is UNchecked. Image--->Sharpen--->Sharpen. With your mover tool, move this snowball to the bottom of your canvas.

5. On your body layer, resize by 60%, sharpen, and place on top of the bottom snowball.

6. On the head layer, resize by 45%, sharpen, and place on top of the body snowball. Your image should now look like this:

7. On your head layer, add a new layer and name it "eyes". With your selection tool, same settings, draw a small circle on the upper left side of the head. Flood fill with black. Effects--->3D Effects--->Inner Bevel. Apply the Round preset but change the shininess to 40. Deselect.

8. Edit--->Copy. Edit--->Paste--->As new selection and place on the right side of the head.

9. Add a new layer and name it "nose". Change your foreground colour to a deep orange (I used #FC7854) and your background to a lighter orange (I used #FFB18B). Make sure your foreground texture has been changed to null. With your selection tool, draw a circle for the nose and flood fill it with gradient using the following settings:

Deselect.

10. Add a new layer and name it "mouth". With your selection tool, same settings, draw a circle at the left side where you want the mouth to start. Flood fill with black. Deselect. Apply the Round inner bevel but change the shininess to 30.

11. Edit--->Copy. Edit--->Paste--->As new selection and place below and to the right of the first one.

12. Paste--->As new selection and place below and to the right again. Keep doing this until you have your mouth.
