Swirl Candy

Materials Needed:
PSP 9 - get it here
1. Open a new image 250 x 250 and flood fill with a colour,
if desired - but not white as we will be using that in the image.
Click on your Symmetric Shape tool
and use the following settings:
Draw a shape as shown below and Objects--->Align--->Center
in Canvas:
2. Click on your pen tool ,
and grab the top of the handle on the centre node and pull to the
right and out, as shown:
Now, grab the bottom of the handle and pull out and up just
a little bit:
Here is what you should have now - remember undo is your friend!
It took me a few tries to get it right:
3. Layers--->Duplicate. On duplicate layer, Image--->Rotate--->Free
Rotate. Check left, enter 36 degrees and make sure "All layers"
and "Rotate single layer around canvas center" is UNchecked.
With your mover tool, move it so the centre is over the centre of
the original layer:
4. Turn off your back layer. Layers--->Merge--->Merge
Visible. Turn your back layer back on. On the merged layer, starting
in the centre of the candy, draw a circle with the selection tool,
like this:
Selections--->Invert. Hit your Delete key (or Edit--->Clear).
Invert again. Go down to your background layer, add a new raster
layer and flood fill with white. Deslect. Merge visible the candy
and white layers.
5. On the merged layer, apply the following inner bevel (Effects--->3D
Effects--->Inner Bevel):
Delete your background layer and you have your swirl candy to tube
to use in your images.
Enjoy!
