Seamless Tiles Using Tubes
Materials Needed:
PSP 7.x - Get it here
Jasc Holiday Tubes - Get it here
Simple Filters (Optional) - Get them here
1. Open a new image 200 x 200. Add a new rasterlayer and name
it "confetti".
Click on your tube tool
and select the confetti tube. Change the
step to 15.
2. Hold down your left mouse button and drag across the image.
3. Now, using the same technique, draw more lines, in any direction
you like.
4. Take your colour picker
and pick a colour of your choice from
the confetti. Left click on the colour to make it your foreground
colour.
5. Go to your background layer and flood fill with the colour.
Layers--->Merge
--->Merge Visible.
6. Effects--->Reflection Effects--->Kaleidoscope. Play
with the settings until
you get something you like. Here are the settings I used, but what
you use will
largely depend on how you did your confetti rows (ie. how many and
in
what direction):
Voila! Here is your seamless tile!
7. Optional - Use the Quick Tile from the Simple Filters to
make it tile
a bit differently:
Here are some more examples of the same square in step #4 and
5 but with
different kaleidoscope settings:

You can use other tubes in the same way to make patterns. Here's
one done with the poinsetta tube:
This one, I used the skull tube from Jasc's Halloween tubes and
instead of
changing the step, I just put it down one at a time:
Play around and see what else you come up with. The possibilities
are endless!
Enjoy!
